Depois que escolho o desenho uso uma folha de papel para apoiar o braço e a mão porque o corpo humano possui óleos naturais que, em contacto direto, podem manchar minh pintura.

After choosing the design I use a sheet of paper to support the arm and hand because the human body has natural oils that, in direct contact, can stain my painting.

Em seguida, defino o motivo principal da minha pintura, que neste caso, é o pássaro. Acredito que seja um pavão u uma ave do paraíso.

Then I define the main motif of my painting, which in this case is the bird. I believe it to be a peacock and a bird of paradise.

Como vou pintar com a mão direita, começo a pintura na parte esquerda de cima. Gosto de pintar por pequenas partes e de forma coordenada.

As I paint with my right hand, I start the painting on the left side of the top. I like to paint in small parts and in a coordinated way.

Escolhi este pequeno pedaço para o exemplo de pintura e observo seus detalhes e como está posicionado em relação ás outras partes do desenho em volta.

I chose this little piece for the painting as an example so I look at its details and how it is positioned in relation to the other parts of the drawing around.

Em relação ao desenho inteiro, defini previamente que meu ponto de luz está à esquerda do livro, então quanto mais afastadas desse ponto forem as figuras, mais claras serão.

In relation to the whole drawing, I have previously defined that my light point is to the left of the book, so the further away from that point the figures are, the clearer they will be.

Da mesma forma, observo a posição das partes do desenho: qual parte está por cima, qual parte está por baixo, o que está na sombra e o que está na luz.

In the same way, I observe the position of the parts of the drawing: which part is above, which part is below, what is in the shadow and what is in the light.

Usei azuis e seus tons mais escuros para fazer o sombreamento. Poderia ter usado um pouco de cinza com azul ou até a cor complementar como fundo para ajudar a sombrear, mas neste desenho faço um exercício apenas com cores e seus tons.

I used blues and their darker shades to make the shading. I could have used a little gray with blue or even the complementary color as background to help shade, but in this drawing I do an exercise with only colors and their tones.

Aplico lápis branco nas partes claras ou que não quero colocar cor, e ele também me ajuda a isolar um pouco as outras cores, para o caso de esquecer que quero manter uma parte branca.

I apply white pencils on the light parts or on the parts I do not want to color, and it also helps me to isolate the other colors a bit, in case I forget I want to keep a white part.

Quando ultrapasso a linha preta de desenho coloco uma cor parecida na área ultrapassada, e o que parecia estar errado fica certo.

When I go past the black drawing line I put a similar color in the outdated area, and what seems to be wrong becomes right.

Também tomo especial cuidado em pintar bem rente á linha preta, cobrir bem o branco do papel.

I also take special care in painting close to the black line, covering the white of the paper well.

De vez em quando é preciso nos afastarmos da pintura, cerca de 80cm, 1 metro, para termos uma visualização ampla das cores.

From time to time we must move away from the painting, about 80cm, 1 meter, in order to have an ample visualization of the colors.

O uso do blender ou do lápis branco como blender, em pedaços pequenos, é opcional porque normalmente a gradação de cores feita numa área pequena é tão boa, que não há necessidade do uso desses lápis.

The use of blender or white pencil as a blender in small pieces is optional because normally the gradation of colors made in a small area is so good that there is no need to use these pencils.
