Mais uma Sexta-feira 13 e penso: será que ainda tem alguém que acha que é um dia de azar???



Ah, e os gatos pretos! Será que ainda tem alguém que pensa que gato preto dá azar???



E se ele cruzar o caminho de alguém numa sexta-feira 13? Eu acho uma tremenda sorte!

Another Friday the 13th and I keep thinking: is there still someone who thinks it's a day of bad luck ?

Oh, and the black cats! Is there still someone who thinks that black cat brings bad luck ???

What if it crosses someone's path on Friday the 13th? I think it's a great luck!



São superstições esquisitas vindas da Idade Média, quando pessoas tidas como bruxas eram caçadas pela "Santa Inquisição" instituída pela igreja católica,  que de santa não tinha nada, ao contrário, era uma forma de ficar com bens, ouro e propriedades de alguém pois quem fosse acusada (ou acusado) de bruxaria além de sofrer torturas acabava ardendo em uma fogueira, ou morrendo por afogamento, ou morrendo por esticamento das partes do corpo.....a criatividade em causar sofrimento era imensa, inadmissível de se pensar a respeito. A ignorância e a cobiça nos bens alheios também eram imensas.

They are strange superstitions from the Middle Ages, when people considered as witches were hunted by the "Holy Inquisition" instituted by the Catholic Church, which as a "holy" had nothing, instead, it was a way of stealing property, gold and belongings from people accused of witchcraft, and those people  in addition to suffering torture ended up burning in a fire, or dying by drowning, or dying by having their body stretched..... the creativity in causing suffering was immense, inadmissible to think about . Ignorance and greed in the goods of others were also immense.



E é nesse momento da História que o gato preto entra: as bruxas eram acusadas de se transformarem em gatos pretos então se um gato preto cruzasse o caminho de alguém seria o mesmo que uma bruxa cruzando o caminho de alguém, e isso seria motivo de azar.....e de caça ao gato também.

And it is at this point in History that the black cat enters: witches were accused of turning into black cats so if a black cat crossed someone's path it would be the same as a witch crossing someone's path, and that would be cause for bad luck ..... and cat hunting too.



Mas nem sempre foi assim. No Egito os gatos eram adorados, considerados deuses, e quem maltratasse ou matasse um gato era punido severamente, até com a morte. Acho muito justo!

But it was not always so. In Egypt cats were worshiped, considered gods, and anyone who mistreated or killed a cat was severely punished, even with death. I think it's fair!



Gatos são criaturas magníficas, misteriosas, altivas, inteligentíssimas, com olhos que enxergam muito além dos nossos.......felinos são os verdadeiros reis da Natureza e são eles que escolhem os humanos, e não o contrário.



Pra conquistar o afeto de um gato é preciso ser merecedor.

Cats are magnificent creatures, mysterious, haughty, intelligent, with eyes that see far beyond ours ....... felines are the true kings of Nature and  they choose "their" humans, not the other way around.

To win the affection of a cat one must be worthy.

A Jolie, que está comigo há 5 anos mas acredito que ela tenha uns 6 ou 7 anos de idade:

 E o mais novo, meu caçula Noel, que jogaram dentro do meu quintal num dia 23 de dezembro, era apenas pêlo e ossos, bem pequeno e bem fraquinho. Hoje é o maior dos gatos, meu frajola:

And the youngest, my Noel, who was thrown away into my yard on December 23rd, he was just "hair and bones", very small and very weak. Today he is the biggest of cats:

Estamos no século 21, quem ainda tem preconceito ou acredita em superstições precisa evoluir, abrir o coração e entender que essas criaturas inocentes não fazem mal a ninguém, pelo contrário, sou feliz e sortuda por ter sido escolhida por eles.

We are in the 21st century, those who still have prejudice or believe in superstitions need to evolve, open their hearts and understand that these innocent creatures do no harm to anyone, on the contrary, I am happy and lucky to have been chosen by them.

- cola comum, ou Modge Podge ou cola pra decoupage;

- stencil;

- carimbeira Archival Ink preta;

- esponja;

- carimbo de letras;

- caneta Posca branca, ou caneta gel branca.
