Restauração de Álbum (The restoration of an Album)

Olá!



Tempos atrás eu disse que estava fazendo a restauração de um Álbum de Casamento, que é este das fotos.



É um álbum antigo, provavelmente comprado em alguma loja (não foi por encomenda) há pouco mais de 50 anos atrás.

O Álbum estava em péssimo estado, com capas e folhas manchadas, amareladas, algumas rasgadas e traças!



Em alguns casos a restauração fica impossível, então aproveitei o acetato da capa frontal onde está escrito "Nossas Núpcias" e refiz o álbum com material novo.

O importante é manter as características do álbum, tais como a capa, a costura em volta dessa capa, o cordão de amarração na lombada.

As fotos também foram outro problema pois algumas delas estavam bem danificadas. Optei por não colar as fotos diretamente  nas páginas, mas sim usar cantoneiras porque uma parte das fotos tinha dedicatória no verso.

Ainda estou em busca do tecido que mais se aproxima com o original do álbum e assim que eu conseguir finalizar o trabalho, venho aqui mostrar o resultado!

Com essa restauração será possível preservar as lembranças de uma vida por muitos anos ainda, mostrar a netos, bisnetos.....é algo que todos deveríamos prestar atenção: em como preservar nossos álbuns que contam a história da nossa vida ou da vida de quem amamos, nossas lembranças, 

Então é isso! Assim que ficar tudo pronto eu mostro!

Long ago I said I was doing the restoration of a Wedding Album, the one of these photos.

It's an old album, probably bought in a store (not per order) just over 50 years ago.

The album was in terrible shape, with covers and sheets stained, yellowed, torn and with  moths!

In some cases restoration is impossible, so I took out the acetate front cover where is written "Our Wedding" and redid the album with new material.

The important thing is to keep the album features such as cover, the stitching rounding the front cover, the rope on the spine.

The pictures were also another problem because some of them were damaged. I opted not to paste the photos directly onto the pages, but using angles as  the pictures had a dedication in verse.

I'm still in search of the fabric that is closest to the original album and as soon I  finish the job, I'll come here to show the result!

With this restoration it will be possible to preserve the memories of a lifetime for many years to come, to show the grandchildren, ..... it's something that everyone should pay attention: how to preserve our albums that tell the story of our life or the life of loved ones, our memories.

So that's it! Once I get everything ready, I'll show up!
