A Viagem (17): Torre Eiffel (Tour Eiffel - The Trip)

Agora vamos subir a Torre Eiffel? De elevador, claro!



Hello!





Now let's go up the Eiffel Tower! By elevator, of course!

No primeiro andar da Torre ainda vemos as paisagens de perto.



On the first floor of the Tower we still see the sights up close.

O Rio Sena dá à cidade um aspecto romântico e os  prédios antigos dominam boa parte da cidade.

The Seine River gives the city a romantic aspect and the old buildings dominate much of the city.

Nesta foto abaixo podemos ver a Praça do Trocadéro, um dos mais belos monumentos de Paris.

In this photo below you can see the Place du Trocadéro, one of the most beautiful monuments of Paris.

No segundo andar da Torre começamos a nos afastar mais.....vai tudo ficando menor...

On the second floor of the tower we get far and far from de ground .....  all is getting smaller ...

Abaixo uma foto do terceiro andar, o mais alto...estamos a quase 324 metros de altura!



Below, a photo by the third floor, the highest ... we are almost 324 meters tall!

No terceiro andar está o escritório do criador da torre,  Gustave Eiffel, e  esse escritório foi restaurado até ficar do jeito que era originalmente.

On the third floor is the office of the creator of the tower, Gustave Eiffel, and that office was restored to the way it was, originally.

Os bonecos de cera mostram Gustave e sua filha Claire dando as boas vindas ao famoso inventor americano   Thomas Edison.

Nesse escritório também há o gramofone que Thomas deu a Gustave de presente.



The waxworks show Gustave and his daughter Claire  welcoming the famous American inventor Thomas Edison.



In this office there is also the gramophone that Thomas gave Gustave as a gift.

A Viagem (16): Torre Eiffel (Tour Eiffel - The Trip)

E agora a "Velha Senhora", ou Torre Eiffel, localizada no Champ de Mars em Paris.

É uma torre em ferro e é o edifício mais alto de Paris se contarmos com as antenas de transmissão no topo; foi projetada pelo engenheiro Gustave Eiffel para ser a entrada da Exposição Universal de 1889 que celebrava o centenário da Revolução Francesa em 1789.

A Torre seria desmontada após a exposição mas a parte de cima tinha uma poderosa antena de rádio e isso a salvou!

Também era imponente e naquela época tornou-se  o edifício mais alto do mundo, mantendo o título por mais de 40 anos.

And now the "Old Lady", or the Eiffel Tower, located on the Champ de Mars in Paris.

It is an iron tower and is the tallest building in Paris if you count the transmitting antennas on top, was designed by engineer Gustave Eiffel for entry into the 1889 Universal Exposition celebrating the centenary of the French Revolution in 1789.

The tower was going to be  disassembled after the  exposure but the top part had a powerful radio antenna and that saved it!

It was also impressive and  became the tallest building in the world, helding the title for over 40 years.

Tem 329 metros de altura e 3 níveis que podem ser visitados pelos turistas. Pode-se comprar ingressos para os 3 níveis ou apenas para 1 ou 2. Até o segundo nível podemos ir de elevador ou de escadas, mas o terceiro e mais alto nível só tem acesso por elevador. Nos níveis 1 e 2  há lojas de souvenirs,  banheiros e um restaurante.

Os ingressos podem ser comprados pela Internet (evitando as filas enormes) ou na própria torre. 

It has 329 meters high and 3 levels that can be visited by tourists. You can buy tickets for the 3 levels or for just 1 or 2. To the second level we can take the lift or just stairs, but the third and highest level is only accessible by lift. At levels 1 and 2 there are  souvenir shops, toilets and a restaurant.

Tickets can be purchased over the Internet (avoiding the long lines) or in the tower itself.

A foto abaixo mostra uma homenagem que Gustave Eiffel fez a  72 cientistas, engenheiros e personalidades francesas gravando o nome de todos como reconhecimento de suas contribuições ao mundo e à França.

The photo below shows a tribute that Gustave Eiffel made to 72 scientists, engineers and French personalities writing their names in recognition of their contributions to the world and to  France. 

É uma emoção estar em Paris, visitar a Torre Eiffel e de lá de cima poder olhar a cidade toda!



Foi uma das experiências mais incríveis que tive, fiquei na Torre até à noite, esperando as luzes acenderem.

A Viagem (15): Museu do Louvre (Louvre - The Trip)

Esta é última postagem sobre o Museu do Louvre e quero destacar a perfeição do quadro acima! Não é um quadro muito grande mas a grandiosidade está na pintura.

Tirei uma foto apenas das mãos, são perfeitas, mostram as veias, a cor da pele, parecem verdadeiras.

This is the last post about the Louvre and I want to highlight the perfection of the picture above! Not a too big frame but the greatness is in the painting.

I took a photo showing these perfect  hands: their veins, skin color, they seem true.

E claro que eu não poderia deixar de mostrar o quadro mais famoso do mundo, a Mona Lisa ou La Gioconda ou Mona Lisa del Giocondo, do gênio italiano Leonardo da Vinci.

A pintura começou em 1503 e é bem controversa por causa do sorriso do personagem que uns dizem que é uma mulher, outros dizem que é de um jovem, mas o quadro tem outros aspectos igualmente misteriosos e foi pintado com tinta a óleo sobre madeira.

And of course I could not help but show the world's most famous painting, the Mona Lisa or La Gioconda or Mona Lisa del Giocondo, by the Italian genius Leonardo da Vinci.

The painting started in 1503 and is very controversial because of the smile of the character that some say is a woman, others say it is a young man, but the picture has other equally mysterious matters; it was painted with oil  on wood.

Ao contrário do que se pensa é um quadro relativamente pequeno, mas é o mais famoso e mais valioso quadro do mundo!



Na sala onde está exposto as pessoas se acotovelam para tirar fotos e chegar perto. A segurança também é reforçada nessa sala.





Contrary to what you think it is  relatively small but it's the most famous and most valuable painting of the world!


In the room where it is exposed people jostle to take pictures and get close. Safety is also enhanced in this room.

Gostaria de botar todas as fotos que tirei do Louvre mas são centenas, ficaria até o fim do ano postando as fotos e foi difícil escolher quais fotos postar porque todas elas mostram obras de arte maravilhosas.

I would put all the pictures I took of the Louvre but there are hundreds, I would stay until the end of the year posting the photos and it was hard to choose which photos to post because they all show great artworks.

A Viagem (14): Museu do Louvre(Musée du Louvre - The Trip).

Mais  fotos do Museu do Louvre: acima a famosa escultura da Vênus de Milo que é uma estátua da Grécia Antiga, descoberta em 1820 na ilha de Milo, é uma das estátuas antigas mais conhecidas no mundo mas sua autoria e a data em que foi feita permanecem desconhecidas.

Abaixo um dos quadros da série "Mulheres no seu toillete" do pintor francês Edgar Degas, um dos fundadores do Impressionismo. Absolutamente lindo!





More photos from the Louvre: above the famous sculpture of Venus de Milo which is an ancient Greek statue, discovered in 1820 on the island of Milo; it is one of the most famous antique statues in the world but its authorship and date ​​remains unknown.

Below is one of the paintings from the series "Women in their toilette" by the  French painter Edgar Degas, one of the founders of Impressionism. Absolutely beautiful!

Muitos quadros impressionam não só pela pintura mas também pelo tamanho, são enormes.

Many paintings are impressive not only in painting but also in size, they are enormous.

Observar cada uma dessas obras de arte demanda tempo! São tão perfeitas que é difícil não ficar minutos e minutos olhando pra elas, são fascinantes!

To observe each of these works of art takes time! They are so perfect that it's hard not to get minutes and minutes looking at them, they are fascinating!

E o teto de alguns salões? A gente olha pras pinturas dos quadros mas os olhos sobem, sobem.....e vemos a riqueza das pinturas em tudo!

What about the roof of some salons? We look to the paintings, but our eyes go up, up ..... and see the richness of the paintings all over the walls!

A Viagem (13): Mais um giro por Paris (Another tour in Paris)

Vamos deixar o Louvre pra semana que vem e dar uma voltinha por Paris.

Na foto acima vemos uma escultura dourada, muito comum nos monumentos que vemos nas ruas.

Let's leave the Louvre for next week and take a walk through Paris.

In the picture above we see a golden sculpture, very common in the monuments on the streets.

Abaixo o Rio Sena, as luminárias são lindas e também com esculturas.

Down the River Seine, the fixtures are beautiful and also have sculptures.

Aqui é onde fica o famoso Hotel Ritz, que hospeda artistas e personalidades de todo o mundo.

Here's  the famous Ritz Hotel, which hosts artists and personalities from around the world.

Outra vez o Rio Sena com suas balsas cheias de turistas, é um rio bastante movimentado.

Again the Seine with its ferries full of tourists,  a quite busy river.

A paisagem é linda, na verdade Paris é um luxo. De todos os lugares é possível ver a Velha Senhora.

The scenery is beautiful, in fact Paris is a luxury. Of all the places you can see the Old Lady.

Esta foto foi tirada em Trocadero que é muito mais que uma praça pois aqui além de ser um dos melhores lugares para se ver a Torre Eiffel, também temos  o Palais de Chaillot e algumas memórias da primeira Guerra Mundial. É um lugar de museus e de teatro.



This photo was taken in Trocadero which is much more than a square, as well as being one of the best places to see the Eiffel Tower, we can visit the Palais de Chaillot and some memories of the First World War. It is a place of museums and theater.

Chafarizes que funcionam são outro atrativo da cidade.

Fountains are another attraction of the city.

Aqui a famosa Universidade Sorbonne fundada em 1257 por Robert de Sorbón, capelão do rei São Luís, que inicialmente ensinava teologia para alunos pobres. Séculos depois, Napoleão  criou em Paris as faculdades de Ciências, Letras, Teologia, Direito e Medicina e a Sorbonne tornou-se sede das Ciências Humanas.



Here is the famous Sorbonne founded in 1257 by Robert de Sorbon, chaplain of King St. Louis, that initially taught theology for poor students. Centuries later, Napoleon created, in Paris, the universities of Science, Literature, Theology, Law and Medicine and Sorbonne became the seat of the Humanities.

Claro que desci e fotografei todas! Devo ter tirado mais de 100 fotos só desse pátio, de cada detalhe das esculturas.

Of course I went down and photographed all of them! I have taken over 100 photos just of this courtyard, of every detail of the sculptures.

Salões bem grandes pra expor tantos quadros de diversos tamanhos.  Mas depois de umas 3 horas andando pelo museu já vem um pouco de cansaço....



Big salons to expose  so many paintings of various sizes. But after about 3 hours walking around the museum I'm  a little tired ....

Consegui uma boa foto, dá pra ver boa parte de uma das fachadas do museu.

Got a good photo, we can see a good part of one of the facades of the museum.

A Viagem (11): Museu do Louvre (Louvre - The Trip)

Continuando nossa visita ao Museu do Louvre, olha esse teto com essa pintura! Lindo, o olhar prende nele, são tantos detalhes, uma obra de arte.

As esculturas também são lindas, esta em mármore é bem parecida com a Pietá, mas a verdadeira Pietá está na Basílica de São Pedro, em Roma.

Continuing our visit to the Louvre, look at this ceiling with this painting! Beautiful, we can't stop looking, so many details, a work of art.

The sculptures are also beautiful, this one in marble is very similar to Pieta, but the real Pieta is in Saint Peter's Basilica, Rome.

Existem vários salões apenas com esculturas, algumas enormes, umas podemos tocar e outras não.

There are several rooms only with sculptures, some huge, some we can touch, others we can't.

Tudo é arte nesse museu: o teto, as peças em exposição e o chão!

Everything is art in this museum: the ceiling, the floor and the pieces on display!

A maior parte dos salões é enorme, o museu fica lotado de visitantes mas mesmo assim os salões parecem vazios.

Most salons are huge, the museum is crowded with visitors but the rooms are so big it seems they 're empty.

Um museu que é um palácio, majestoso!
