Caneta Tinteiro x Marcador Permanente - Qual a melhor? (Fountain Pen x Permanent Marker - Which is better?)

Será que eu sou a pessoa mais indicada pra falar de caneta tinteiro? Acho que sou suspeita porque eu adoro caneta tinteiro!



A caneta tinteiro veio em substituição ao bico de pena e foi uma invenção revolucionária no começo do século XX, portanto podemos dizer que ainda é uma invenção recente. 

Mas ainda tem muita gente que usa o bico de pena, principalmente por artistas que fazem trabalhos a nanquim.



O corpo das canetas tinteiro normalmente é em plástico ou metal e a tinta vem em cartuchos, ou em vidros e "sugadas" para dentro da caneta através de um conversor. 

As penas também podem ser escolhidas de acordo com a espessura que se deseja, enfim, hoje em dia temos uma variedade enorme desses objetos preciosos!

Am I the right person to talk about fountain pens? I think I'm suspicious because I love fountain pens!

The fountain pen came in replacement of the feather pen and was a revolutionary invention in the early twentieth century, so we can say that it is still a recent invention.

But there are still a lot of people who use the feather pen, especially by artists who use to draw with nanquim.

The bodies of the fountain pens are usually in plastic or metal and the ink comes in cartridges, or in glasses and is "sucked" into the pen through a converter.

The nibs can also be chosen according to the thickness we want, in fact, nowadays we have a huge variety of these precious objects!

Além da enorme variedade de cores de tinta, poder escolher a espessura que queremos nas penas torna essa caneta ainda mais atrativa. Na verdade cada pena nos dá ao menos duas espessuras diferentes: uma é quando escrevemos normalmente, com a pena para baixo; a outra é quando viramos a pena para cima e obtemos um traço mais fino.



Com um pouco de prática podemos obter outras espessuras usando uma única pena.



Outro fato que me atrai bastante é que a caneta tinteiro dá total liberdade á mão, seja pra escrever, seja pra desenhar, então podemos praticamente deita-la segurando-a como se fosse um lápis de desenho.



Além disso, o fato de podermos recarregar a caneta e trocar a cor da tinta faz dela a minha preferida quando comparada com outras canetas.



Mas, temos o outro lado da moeda...porque essas canetas precisam de maior cuidado, de limpeza constante tanto do corpo quanto da parte interna, e da pena. Uma queda pode danificar totalmente a ponta; a tinta pode vazar se a pena estiver frouxa ou o corpo da caneta estiver rachado; a tinta também tem que ser específica pra caneta tinteiro senão o risco de entupir a pena definitivamente é bem grande. Normalmente as tintas são á base de água, ou seja, elas borram se algum pingo de água cair sobre a escrita ou o desenho.

In addition to the huge variety of ink colors, choosing the nib we need makes this pen even more attractive. In fact each pen gives us at least two different nib thicknesses: one is when we write normally, with the nib down; the other is when we turn the nib up and get a finer stroke.

With a little practice we can get other thicknesses using a single nib.

Another fact that attracts me a lot is that the fountain pen gives freedom to the hand, either to write or to draw, so we can practically lay it down holding it like a drawing pencil.

Besides, the fact that we can recharge the pen and change the color of the ink makes it my favorite when compared to other pens.

But we have the other side of the coin ... because these pens need greater care, constant cleaning of both the body and the inner part, and the pen. A fall can totally damage the nib; the ink may leak if the nib is loose or the pen body is cracked; the ink also has to be specific for fountain pens, otherwise the risk of clogging the nib is definitely too great. Usually the ink are water-based, that is, they blur if any drop of water fall on the writing or drawing.

As canetas permanentes, chamadas "marcadores", também são outra revolução bem vinda no mundo das artes!

Com espessuras de pontas de vários tamanhos (inclusive com ponta tipo pincel)  e o melhor, com uma tinta resistente á água, essas canetas também estão entre as preferidas pelos artistas. São leves, práticas, podem ser compradas em quase todos os lugares, existem em várias cores mas......não são recarregáveis: acabou a tinta, vão para o lixo.



Além disso, elas não permitem uma variação de espessura nem dão total liberdade á mão quando desenhamos porque é preciso que estejam relativamente na vertical para que escrevam/desenhem, limitando nossos movimentos.



Algo que também não me agrada e que já me fez jogar algumas canetas fora, é que a ponta (normalmente um tipo de feltro) ás vezes entra no corpo da caneta e dificulta ainda mais os movimentos da mão.

With multi-tipped thicknesses (including a brush tip) and the best, with a water-resistant ink, these pens are also among the favorites of the artists. They are lightweight, practical, can be purchased almost everywhere, they exist in various colors but ...... they are not rechargeable: when the paint is gone, they go to the trash.

In addition, they do not allow a variation of tip thickness nor give full freedom to the hand when we draw because they must be relatively upright to write / draw, limiting our movements.

Something that I also do not like and that has made me throw some pens out, is that the tip (usually a type of felt) sometimes enters in the body of the pen and makes  the movements of the hand it even more difficult.

Mas, tudo é questão de hábito e de gosto pessoal. Há quem prefira os marcadores e deteste as canetas tinteiro. Há quem prefira apenas as canetas tinteiro, um modo mais "tradicional", e há pessoas que como eu preferem a caneta tinteiro mas também usam e se adaptam bem aos marcadores permanentes.

E você, qual delas prefere? 

Bom, se você pensou: "Ah, Cris, eu prefiro a caneta permanente porque a tinta é resistente á água!" ....aqui está uma ótima notícia: existem empresas que fabricam tintas resistentes á água que podem ser usadas nas canetas tinteiro sem danificar a caneta! Mas isso é assunto pro vídeo da semana que vem!

 But it's all a matter of habit and personal preference. Some people prefer permanent pens and hate fountain pens. There are those who prefer only  fountain pens, a more "traditional" way, and there are people like me who prefer the fountain pen but also use and adapt well to permanent markers.
